When we’re riding our bikes, playing tennis, or walking our dog, exercise seems effortless. This is what we used to call “play” when we were young. We all still need playtime-not only to keep our bodies healthy, but also to keep our minds sharp and our stress levels down.
In the Monadnock region, there are limitless (and relatively inexpensive) options for adults and kids to play and get exercise: from parks, paths, bike trails, and dynamic state and local recreation facilities, to private gyms and fitness centers. But perhaps the most important aspect of active living is simply making it the easy choice. By supporting sidewalks, safe routes to schools, and bike paths; active living becomes a natural part of our daily lives. Active living shouldn’t be accessible to only those who choose, and can afford to go to a gym.
