“Thanks to Noreene for bringing a sense of fun and celebration as she helps our community at Fuller School to be healthier!” – Emily Hartshorne, Principal, Fuller School.
Noreene sounds like someone we’d like to work with. She has been organizing weight loss and weight management competitions and scheduling stress management sessions at Fuller. She writes,
“Educators work so hard to do their best for our community’s children… and that includes everyone in our schools: teachers, paraprofessionals, tutors, guidance counselors, secretaries, custodians, food service, and many other support staff.”
Noreene and Emily will both be entered into our drawing at our next Champion celebration event! Don’t forget to nominate someone who is inspiring you!
Name: Noreene Davis
Job: School Nurse at Fuller Elementary School
What song do you sing in the shower? Not much of a shower singer, but I do love motown and rock and roll!
Everything in moderation…. What was your last guilty pleasure? My last guilty pleasure? I have to admit I do have a sweet tooth, and enjoyed some dark chocolate last week.
Best things to eat for breakfast? My go-to breakfast is oatmeal…with a big mug of strong coffee (maybe THAT is my guilty pleasure!)!!
February is National Healthy Heart Month – what it the number one thing you’d tell your loved ones to do to protect their hearts? I really think people are healthiest when we take care of ourselves. It’s a balancing act: weight management, healthy eating, fitness, stress management, and enjoying life all contribute to a better quality of life. The side effects are healthy hearts, lower blood pressure, lower diabetes rates along with so many other healthy outcomes.
What’s your next healthiest step? My next healthiest step is to “walk the walk”[Tweet “#nexthealthieststep #walkthewalk every day is a new chance to take care of ourselves.”]: I have joined a gym and need to get there more often!
