All are invited – whether you’ve already signed up as a champion or are simply curious what it’s all about! Please join your community for the 7th Annual Champions Celebration to be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016, in the Mabel Brown Room at Keene State College from 5:30-7 p.m. No RSVP is required, and families with children are welcome!
The evening will include homemade fall-themed healthy snacks, Champion awards, healthy “carnival” games (with prizes), raffle items and a chance to network with other Healthy Monadnock Champions.
This year will feature a keynote speaker, Leaf Seligman, a Jaffrey resident who teaches a course in forgiveness and reconciliation at Keene State College and has started a mentoring program through Monadnock Restorative Community, an area nonprofit that provides programming, mentoring and internships for women reintegrating into society after incarceration.
Each year the Champions Celebration becomes more popular as the engagement of individual, school and organizational Champions increases. To date, Healthy Monadnock has garnered the support of more than 3,300 Champions in the community, plus 150 Organizational Champions and 23 School Champions.
Awards to be given at this year’s event will include: Individual Champion, School Champion, Organizational Champion, Outreach Champion, and Champion of the Year. The Kids DeMar Marathon color contest winners will also be announced — winners include two students from each grade K-6.
We hope to see you there!
